Teeth Stain Removal in Bangalore

Are you conscious about those brownish/ blackish stains on your teeth? Are you scared that you are stuck with it forever? Hell no, you aren’t stuck with it forever, we, at Amaya dental are here to help you!

Stains on your teeth can be due to a variety of reasons. There are basically two kinds of stains.

Intrinsic stains: These are the ones that appear prior to teeth eruption. These stains affect your dentin which is the inner layer of your teeth. It can be due to genetics, age, antibiotics, high fluoride levels etc.

Extrinsic stains: These are the ones that appear after eruption of the teeth. These stains affect your enamel which is the outer layer of your teeth. It can be due to smoking, pigments in coffee, tea, food etc.

Then there can be tartar on your teeth that can cause yellow discolouration. So basically the saliva in your mouth has many minerals like calcium, potassium etc. If you don’t maintain proper oral hygiene, food particles accumulate in areas of your teeth, bacteria increase in number, and form a layer called plaque on your teeth. Later, the minerals in the saliva get deposited on your teeth surfaces where there’s plaque. These calcified structures are called tartar or calculus as we call it. And they start forming between your teeth and the gums.

When this happens, your gums will pull away from your teeth and form spaces called pockets. Plaque then gets trapped in these pockets and cannot be removed with regular brushing. If untreated, gum disease could lead to bone and tooth loss.

Hence, we, at Amaya dental, recommend scaling and polishing. Scaling is basically nothing but removal of plaque and calculus from your teeth surfaces. It is a painless procedure and should be done twice in a year at least.
